Ficus carica 'Celeste'Dark purple/green slender figs with amber flesh are produced in profusion July-August on a compact tree to around 10' tall and wide. The fruit is firm and crunchy--good for eating fresh or dried. The closed-eye quality of the fruit helps to reduce spoilage from fruit beetles and wasps. Celeste fig is also known for good cold resistance. USDA zones 7-10 in cold hardiness. |
