Hydrangea macrophylla 'Nikko Blue'
Deciduous flowering shrub to 5' tall and wide producing massive display of 4" rounded blue flower clusters in late spring followed by intermittent rebloom--especially if the plant is dead headed. One of the original best blue Hydrangeas, it is still worthy of any spot in the garden. Plant in full sun (if well watered and never in a hot spot in the garden) to part shade. Give good drainage. Feed with all purpose fertilizer. Few pests. Prune to remove spent flowers in mid-summer. USDA zones 5-10 in cold hardiness.
