Abutilon megapotamicum 'Orange Hot Lava'

Evergreen (deciduous in zones 7-8) flowering shrub in the Hibiscus family producing super showy bright orange flowers with darker veins and a deep red calyx that resemble Chinese lanterns spring through fall. Very attractive to hummingbirds. Plant in light shade to morning sun. Good up against houses on the north or east side. They can grow to 6' or more, but best if pruned hard occasionally to keep a denser, fuller habit. Give good drainage. Moderate fertilizer. Easy to grow. USDA zones 7b-11 in cold hardiness.
