Polystichum acrostichoidesCarolina native fern that grows to 2' tall and wide. Evergreen until late in the season, then goes deciduous for a few months before awakening again in spring. Grows in dense forest at the base of trees and deep organic matter. Prefers good drainage and just average to light watering. Once established it will naturalize without care. Deer and rodent resistant. USDA zones 3-9 in cold hardiness. |
