Ficus carica 'Ischia'
Large plump, juicy green fig with dark pink flesh. Due to its ripening when still green, birds and other thieves don't tend to notice it as soon as dark colored figs. Fruit starts in July and produces right up until the cool weather in the fall. Great eaten fresh. The tree grows as a multi trunked shrub or small tree to around 10'. Tends to freeze down earlier than some of the hardier figs, hence, some winter protection is warranted in cold winter areas. USDA zones 8-10 in cold hardiness.
