Rubus 'Ponca' (Blackberry)
Another great new variety developed by the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture. Ponca is the best tasting blackberry we have ever tasted, thornless or thorny. Disease resistant plants produce copious crops of medium fruit mid-season. Blooming a bit later than Big Daddy and Prime Ark Freedom, Ponca also does a better job of avoiding late freezes! Plant in full sun. Give good drainage and consistent water. Best to tie up on fences, trellis, or wiring for better fruit quality and yield. USDA zones 5-9 in cold hardiness. New release!
