Musa 'Ice Cream'
The 'Ice Cream' banana is highly regarded as one of thebest tasting--the banana for the gardener who is a true connoisseur of bananas. It has slight hints of vanilla ice cream flavor and a creamy texture. 'Ice Cream' is also know by the name 'Blue Java' in some parts of the world. It is also called 'Blue Java' because of the blueish-green skinned fruit (but of course, it ripens to a typical yellow color). It can grow to a height of 10-12'. Plant in full to part sun. Give good drainage and consistent water. USDA zones 8-11 in cold hardiness.
