Native to the mid-Atlantic and SE US. Highly attractive to butterflies. A staple food for the Monarch butterfly larvae. Plant in full sun. Give good drainage and average to light water. Drought tolerant once established. Deer resistant. USDA zones 3-9 in cold hardiness.
