Ilex verticillata 'Winter Gold'

Deciduous holly growing to around 5' tall and producing copious amounts of golden orange berries in clusters along the stems. The berries remain through mid winter long after the smooth leaves have fallen leaving bare stems covered in berries. This is a favorite for florists and as a cut stem during the holidays. Plant in full sun to part sun. Likes wet soil, even waterlogged for brief periods. Native to the eastern US. Cold hardy to USDA zones 3-9. Needs a male pollinator within 100' to set the berries.
