Lycium barbarum
Deciduous flowering sprawling shrub to 8' tall and 12' wide producing 1/2" lavender flowers in summer followed by 1/2" red fruit in fall (only pick when fully ripe) which is edible and highly nutritious. Can be eaten raw or cooked or dried. Birds will clean the bush if left unpicked. Plant in full sun. Give good drainage and average to little water. Does well even in poor soils. USDA zones 6-9 in cold hardiness.
